Meeting Minutes September 20, 2006

Present:   Gladys Gairaud, Tom Hamilton, Carol Trelut, Brad Foster, Anna Marie Porras, Greg Botto, Russ Castle, and Chris Oswald.

Absent: Monsignor Otellini

Carol Trelut opened the meeting with prayer at 7:35pm

OLD BUSINESS:

1. Prior minutes were presented for approval and a note was made regarding the
change of date for the meeting from the 13th to the 20th.

Principal's Report:

1. Email reports to info@nativityschool.com to get reports on the web
2. Re-voted Brad as President again
3. Summer improvements:
a. All grades have new lighting was installed in the classrooms
b. Old heating system removed
c. We have 35 new lunch tables
d. 10 new benches still on order
e. Miscellaneous painting
f. Tree trimming 12,000
g. Two insurance claims each at $5000; deductible of $2500
h. Two new projectors
i. Four new laptops
j. Four new computers
k. New blinds in the faculty lounge
l. Numerous other odds & ends

4. School is underway. New faculty members are doing a great job.
5. Computer teacher hired-3 days/week
6. Nativity School Consultative B of Ed will be given at Oct. meeting.
7. Endowment/Appeal letter was presented and discussed. We made some
changes. Carol to follow-up via email for final review. It was agreed we should
articulate the financial goal. To be sent Oct. 28 or 29.
8. Speaker/graduate to speak at the 50 year ceremony. Tribute to excellence for
school.
9. We each need to sign up for mass to any answer any questions from
Parishioners
10. Review annual school financial report.

Facilities Report:

1. Tree fell; $4200 covered by insurance (Nativity to pay deductible – see above)
2. Anna was worried trees would hurt someone if not proactively cut down
3. Russ gave an update on the gym; plans were approved by the City Building and
Planning Dept. even though some neighbors disapproved

4. Archdiocese also approved plans and gave Russ a list of contractors to use

Finance Report:

1. Leave Scrip as is for now
2. Some parents are not paying the tuition
3. Discussion by Carol ensued regarding paying via credit card/debit card
4. It was noted that families drive income, not number of kids
5. Head count as of Sep 20, 2006 is 277

Other Items:

1. Russ reported on the 50 year celebration; he needs help setting up
2. Russ reported 150 grads coming; 750 people total; mass at noon; 4 speakers
that day
3. Carol reported next Auction to be held at the Menlo Circus Club on October 2007
