Fantastic Fourth Grade

Mrs. Joe, Teacher

We are on the downhill side of Fourth Grade.  This year has gone by quickly.

Math:  We are learning about decimals.  We will only be covering the tenths and hundredths places, with addition and subtraction.  I hope to have a test on the material sometime the week of May 19th.  We will then move into algebra.

Reading: Our last book report was due in today.  The students has their choice of the report they wanted to do.  I hope your students continues to read and finds many wonderful adventures that await him/her in books.

Science: Our study is in the last unit of the book:  Magnetism and Electricity.  This will be an interesting areas for your student.  We will also do an experiment regarding static electricity, one I'm sure they've already done.  We'll discuss lightning and the dangers it imposes.

Social Studies:  Our trip to Sacramento is Wednesday, May 14.  Students may wear appropriate free dress, with comfortable walking shoes.  Just a reminder, students ARE NOT to bring any electronic devices with them.  Our trip will be long, exciting, and fun.  If your student did not order a sandwich, he/she MUST bring a bag lunch as well we a morning snack and beverage.  We leave school at 8:30A.M.  Meanwhile, we will continue our study of California in the time period of 1900-1940.

These next couple weeks will go by quickly.  We have plenty of learning to do as well as exciting year-end plans.

                                              God bless,
