Q3 -- April 3, 2008 Mavis Beacon 10 - ABC's You will be typing the abc's with the orange cover on your keyboard. You can do this activity as many times as you want (you need to complete at least two). Then you can go to another practice - but you still need to keep the orange cover on the keyboard.  They keyboard will be infront of you on the screen - use it to help you find the right keys. Also remember the bumps on the orange cover are for the home keys - F & J. Good luck! Directions: Click on START/RUN Type: Mavis10 User: Grade 8 -- if not on your screen - then pick another user (do not create a new one) Click on MEDIA CENTER Click on PRACTICE AREA Click on IMPORT Click on abc.txt (my computer/student/upper) Click on OPEN Start typing. Click on START OVER When you are finished with at least two: Click END PRACTICE Click on a category of your choice (Do NOT click on Numbers or Tests) Click OPEN Click on topic of your choice. March 19 & April 2nd You will take 3 Typing Tests. All Tests will be the same text and duration. (If you get 95-100% accuracy and over 20 words per minute you can change to a different text.) Save Each of the results in your folder on the SERVER (student/upper/grade/name/filename). If you do not do this, you will get a zero for the day. Read this Page Before you begin: Click here for the Typing Test Click on Start Typing Test (Button) Test duration: 1 Minute Test text:  The Enchanted Typewriter Speed Unit: WPM Saving Your Typing Test Results After you complete the test, Click on Print results (button) VIEW test results & click FILE/SAVE PAGE Save File in your folder on SERVER (student/upper/grade/name/filename) Note: filename should be TEST1, TEST2, TEST3 After you are finished with the 3 tests, and have over 90% accuracy,  show Mrs. Cortes your highest score/accuracy, then you can make and print a Easter or Spring Picture in KidPix. ***DO NOT PRINT ***
