Welcome Fifth Grade Students and Families!

June 9, 2010

Dear Parents of Fifth Grade:

I am so very grateful to each and every one of you for the incredible year we have had.  It is difficult to believe that another school year is coming to an end and I am thankful I do not have to say good-bye to my students, since I will be instructing their 6th grade Ancient History Class.

I have discussed with all students the importance of continuing to read and practice math this summer.  Reading is imperative, because it relates to everything we do, and of course, if you do not practice math, it is easily forgotten.  There are many fun workbooks available for purchase, and since we received new textbooks, each student brought home a used one that would be easy to use for practice.  There are also a number of websites available to play educational games or as sources for worksheets.  The ones I find most reliable are:  Discovery, Math.com, Superkids.com, and CoolMath.com.

It has been an honor to teach your children.  I am very proud of all they have achieved.  They have wonderful hearts and are eager to do well—what more could a teacher ask for!  Even though I will not be their homeroom teacher, please know that my door is always open, and I wish your and your families the very best.  See you at the Carnival!

God Bless You and Your Families,

Mr. Wright
