“Knowledge is power.”

This is my 8th year here at nativity.  I earned my bachelors degree from the University of New Mexico and recieved my teaching credential from SF State.  I have recently earned my masters degree from Notre Dame de Namur.  Before Nativity, I taught 3 ½ years in the public schools.  My experience here at Nativity has taught me the importance of community, education and spirituality.  I have learned that one can not function effectively without the other.  Over the years Nativity has become a second home to my family.  The faith community has embraced us and help to strengthen us.  The educational standards and holistic approach to the child has helped to strengthen my faith in Catholic Education.  My wife and I believe so strongly in Catholic Eudcation that our eldest son is starting forth grade here.  in addition we have a 19 month old, who has been embraced by this community ever since his birth.

To me, teaching the 8th grade is an ever-changing endeavor.  I have been given the awesome job of preparing the students for high school and beyond.  Seeing my students grow and develop over their last year at Nativity is always the biggest reward for me.   Without fail, I tell my students on the first day of school that “I am not only preparing you for school, I am preparing you for life outside of school.”
