Lenten Prayer
Dear Lord, Lent is a time of penance, a time to believe, to grow closer, a time to achieve. There will be temptations to face, obstacles to overcome, maybe extra chores to do, but you will feel proud when you are done. Lent is when we imitate Jesus always in many different ways. We may give up sweets or read the bible, and will continue to for forty days. We remember His challenges, learn from His experiences, believe in His miracles and express our five senses. Lent will prepare us, make us all aware, show us what we are capable of, and teach us to be fair. Amen. Sierra Sheeper, Grade 8 |

FAMILY MASS: This Sunday, March 21, is our monthly Family
Mass, 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity. Grades 8 and
1 will be coordinating the Mass. Thank you to Mr. Hickam, the 8th
Grade, Mrs. Marzoni, the 1st Grade, Mrs. Joe, the school choir and the
Grades 8 and 1 room parents for hosting the refreshments and taking
care of the clean-up. |
| 2. YOSEMITE SCIENCE INSTITUTE: Mr. Hickam and our 8th graders will be attending the week-long Yosemite Science Institute Program. They will learn the importance of taking care of our environment and will do a lot of "team building" among themselves and youth from other schools. They leave Sunday morning after the Family Mass and leave the park on Friday, March 26, at approximately 3:00 p.m. |
| 3. GIFTS OF THE HEART FOR HAITI: Student Council would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Nativity Haitian relief effort. Through the sport's snack bar, bake sale, and classroom collections, we were able to forward a little over $2,400.00 to Catholic Relief Services, helping the very needy survivors of the Haitian earthquake. Thank you to everyone for answering the call of those in need. God Bless you! |
