Dear Parents:
                                                                         Lenten Prayer
Dear Lord,
At this time, let us listen to a song of reflection, which challenges us all to take up our cross and walk the walk of self-giving.  Amen.

1. RECONCILIATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:  In preparation for their First Holy Communion, our second graders from Nativity School and the Nativity Parish School of Religion celebrated the Sacrament of Reconcilication on Saturday at the Church of the Nativity.   First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday, April 17, at 10:00 a.m.  This is a very holy period in the lives of our children as they prepare to receive the Body of Christ.

2. YOSEMITE:  Our 8th grade arrived at Yosemite safe and sound!  They are eager to start their experience enjoying theYosemite Science Institute.

3.  LENTEN PLAY:  Our students (K-7) were completely engaged by the Grail Theatre of Britain's presentation, Jesus of Nazareth. This is a Catholic production dramatizing the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus.

4.  EASTER BASKET AND CLOTHING DRIVE:  Please see the enclosed flier regarding the Easter Basket and Clothing Drive coordinated by our Nativity School Girl Scout Troop.  It's spring cleaning time.  Your donations are greatly appreciated!

5.  MANDATORY ROOM PARENT MEETING:  All Room Parents are to meet on Wednesday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the school library to discuss the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon.

6.  CONSULTATIVE BOARD OF EDUCATION:  The Consultative Board is an extremely important part of Nativity School.   Enclosed in today’s envelope is a nomination form for School Board.  There will be two seats available for three-year terms beginning with the 2010-2011 school year.  If you are interested, please fill out the enclosed form and return it to school NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, APRIL 16.

7.  LUNCH TICKETS:  There are only 40 lunch days left.  Please do not purchase tickets beyond this amount because we have a new lunch program next school year 2010-2011.  This will be a new system and our current tickets cannot be used.

8.  FINANCIAL AID APPLICATIONS:  Nativity financial aid applications are available by contacting Kathie Sheridan:  325-7304  Extension 111.

9.  P.E. TEACHER:  We would like to welcome our new Physical Education teacher, Mr. Mekey Lepulu.  His background and enthusiasm brings a new dimension to our P.E. program.

10.  SUMMER PROGRAM CANCELLED:  I regret to inform you that there was not enough interest for Nativity School to offer the K-5 July Summer Program this year.  All deposit checks will be returned.

11.  SPRING RIB FEAST:  SAVE THE DATE - May 1 at 6 p.m. at the Sobrato Pavilion!  Please RSVP by April 26.  See enclosed flier.

12.  PARENTS EDUCATION NETWORK:  Nativity families who are facing the issue of learning and attention differences, whether officially diagnosed or not, are welcome to attend the PEN event.  It will be a positive day filled with fun activities, information, services, networking and community building opportunities.  The day is free to all studnets, and while PEN asks for $50 per adult, full scholarships are easily available on their website for those who would find this difficult.  The latest flier can be downloaded at: http://ParentsEducationNetwork.org/resources/EdRev_flyer.pdf.

Blessings,

Mrs. Trelut
