Dear Parents:

1.  FIRST HOLY COMMUNION:  Our second graders from Nativity School and the Nativity Parish School of Religion have been preparing for their First Holy Communion.  The Mass will take place this Saturday, April 17, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity.  This is a very holy period in the lives of our children as they prepare to receive the body of Christ.

2.  CONFIRMATION:   Our eighth graders and students from Nativity Parish School of Religion will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, at 2 p.m., at the Church of the Nativity.  Auxiliary Bishop Ignatius C. Wang will be here to celebrate the Confirmation Mass.

3.  LAP-A-THON: Our students are very busy getting sponsors.  Please remember that sponsor sheets and flat fee donations are due Tuesday, April 21.  Parents interested in volunteering, please contact Maryclair Thomas or Lisa Sheeper.  We need lots of volunteers for this fun day.  Our students really look forward to this fundraiser for our sports program!

4.  LIFETOUCH SPRING PICTURE DAY:    Lifetouch photographers will be here on Thursday, April 15, for "Spring Portrait Day."   April 15 will be a  "free dress" day so students may wear their Easter outfits or choose an outfit  that is appropriate.  This Spring Portrait Day is new to Nativity.  There is no obligation to purchase any of the pictures unless you choose to do so.  No payment is required upfront, nothing to fill out.  In approximately three weeks you will receive a portrait packet.  More information will follow.

5MANDATORY ROOM PARENT MEETING:  All Room Parents are to meet on Wednesday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. in the school library to discuss the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon.

6.  LOST AND FOUND:  Our barrel is FULL!  Please check the over-flowing sweatshirt bin.  All sweatshirts have names on their labels.

7.  EARTH WEEK:  Nativity Student Council has been busy planning ways to celebrate our awesome Earth!  For the entire week, hot lunch participants will be using biodegradable sporks, made from potatoes.  Thank you to 8th grader, Sarah Alvarado, for giving us the idea!  Classes will be competing in a recycling sculpture creation contest, learning "green" tips everyday at our outdoor morning announcements, learning about the word Biodegradable, and collecting used eyeglasses for recycling to those in need (see enclosed flyer).  Make Every Day Earth Day!

8. FINANCIAL AID:  Applications for financial aid and accompanying documents are due back tomorrow April 15.  Please send to the attention of Kathie Sheridan.

9.  HOT LUNCH:  Please note that there are 33 hot lunch days left in the the school year.  Do not over purchase.  Lunch tickets purchased this year will not be good next year.

10.  MERCY HIGH SCHOOL:  Mercy High School in Burlingame will host their 6th & 7th grade student Open House on Friday, April 23rd from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  All 6th & 7th grade girls are invited to attend the afternoon tour of Mercy's campus and enjoy fun-filled student demonstrations.  Mercy is located at 2750 Adeline Drive in Burlingame.  For more detailed information, contact Mrs. Ellen Williamson, Director of Admission at (650) 762-1114 or ewilliamson@mercyhsb.com.

Blessings,

Mrs. Trelut
