| 1. FAMILY MASS: This Sunday, May
2, is our monthly Family Mass, 9:30 a.m. at Church of the
Nativity. Grades 5 and 2 will be coordinating the Mass.

| 2. ALTAR SERVERS: Father Roland visited the grade 4-7 classrooms today to invite any interested students to become altar servers. Training for new servers will take place in September. Applications were left in the classrooms and some in the tower outside the front office. Applications may be submitted to Father Roland, c/o school office. |
| 3. CONSULTATIVE BOARD OF EDUCATION: Enclosed is the formal ballot sheet, one for each parent, to vote for next year's Board Members. We have four candidates, Mrs. Paula Mar, Dr. Greg Enns, Mrs. Carolina Sylvestri, and Mr. William Hoy running for two openings on the School Board. It is important that you vote! |
| 4. STATEMENTS: Enclosed are tuition statements. Included on the statement is the registration fee ($350 per child) for fall 2010. |
| 5. SERVICE HOUR PERIOD ENDS APRIL 30, 2010! <>Service Hour cards are being sent home today to families who have not yet completed their service hour contract for the 2009/2010 school year. Remember, your service hours must be completed by this Friday, April 30, 2010. We do have approximately 13 families who have NEVER turned in a card. If your service hour commitment is not met, then you will be moved to the non-participating tuition rate for the 2010/2011 school year. Please see Clora Hanley for any questions.> |
| 6. HOT LUNCH: Please note that there are 25 hot lunch days left in the the school year. Do not over purchase. Lunch tickets purchased this year will not be valid next year. |
| 7. PTG: Enclosed in this week's envelope is a PTG nomination form for officers for next year's PTG Executive Board. We are extremely indebted to this year's officers: Tonya Skelley, President; Monica Hickam, Vice President; Julie Cronin, Secretary and Evelyn Fontana, Treasurer; for all their dedication and hard work. They are an intricate part of the hospitality that we extend to our school and parish community. Please consider joining this group of active Nativity parents. Send in your nomination form by Monday, May 10. |
| 8. NATIVITY CARNIVAL: The 30th Annual Nativity Carnival is June 11-23. The raffle Grand Prize is a stylish MINI COOPER, second prize $1500 and third prize is $500. Single tickets $50, 3 for $100 and 7 for $200. Tickets are available from the school or church office. Also, enclosed are two separate fliers: Carnival Booth Sign-Ups and an informational flier regarding the Silent Auction. With your help, this year's Carnival will be a spectacular one! |
| 9. STUDENT COUNCIL: There will be a Student Council information meeting on Friday, April 30, in the Grade 5 classroom at recess, 9:50 a.m. Students interested in running for Student Council should plan to attend. |

TRACK: Congratulations to
our 5th grade track team! On April 17, we competed with 15
schools in
the St. Veronica 5th Grade Invitational meet. The impressive
results
were: Girls - 3rd
place overall, Boys
- 4th place overall (amazing with only three boys on our
team), Boys and Girls
combined - 5th place overall! Great job, 5th Grade
tracksters!!! |
| 11. VOLLEYBALL:
Sign-up forms are
enclosed for girls in grades 3-7 for Volleyball, Fall 2010.
Please return sign-up forms by Friday, May 14. Tryouts will be
held on May 17, 18 and 19 as needed. |

Welcome

CAMP MENLO: Making Summer Magic! Spend the summer
splashing with friends at the Burgess Pools in Menlo Park.
Week-long day camps offer swimming, water games, field games, and
crafts for ages 5-12. Skill-appropriate activities,
confidence-building, and fun. Expert, caring instruction for
swimmers of all levels. Mornings 8:45am-2:00pm and/or afternoons
2:00pm-6:00pm. Ten camps, June 14-August 20. Info and

| 14. EYE TESTING: Mrs. Helen Luikart Arnold, RN, will be doing the annual eye screening on Wednesday, May 12 and May 19. The screening will be for Kindergarten and all odd numbered grades and any other students who may benefit from an eye test. After this year's eye screening is complete, Mrs. Arnold will send home a note to parents of any student who may need further testing done. This is Mrs. Arnold's last year at Nativity and we are very appreciative of all her time and effort. We welcome any Nativity parent who is interested in taking on eye screening for the school.
