Hope your summer was full of crazy, lazy days! As we prepare for
a new school
year much excitement is in the air. Our Nativity faculty and
staff want to welcome our new teachers. Ms. Freitas, Gr. 2, and
Ms.
Hrstich, P.E.. Both bring wonderful teaching abilities and
a firm commitment to Catholic education. Let us thank the
Lord for all our
blessings and pray for a happy, healthy year. |
| 1. SCHOOL MASS: Our first school Mass, coordinated by Grade 4, will be celebrated Wednesday, September 2, at 9 a.m., at Church of the Nativity. Grades 1-8 will attend. As always, parents are more than welcome to attend. |
| 2. INFO LETTER REGARDING FLU:

3. BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT: Hopefully all
parents have marked their calendars for Back-To-School Night,
Wednesday, September 9. It is mandatory that at least one parent
attend. The teachers are looking forward to sharing their
academic requirements, policies and procedures, and goals for the year
with you.
Many of our fundraising groups will be present to sign up volunteers. If any chairpersons would like a table to be set up, please contact Mrs. Trelut. There will be no child care available. | 4. ABSENCES: If your child
is going to be absent, please call the school office, 325-7304 before 9
a.m. Send a parent note with your child when he/she returns to
school. |
| 5. MEDICINES: The office
staff will no longer administer any prescriptions and/or over the
counter medicines without a signed parent consent form and a written
doctor's authorization. A form for parent consent is available in
the school office. |
| 6. TRAFFIC SAFETY: It is
extremely important that all parents follow the drop-off, pick-up
parking guidelines on Oak Grove Avenue. Encinal School is under
construction this year. Many of their K-5 students will be using
the bike lane on Laurel Street in front of our school. Please
adhere to the parking signs in front of Nativity School that state "NO PARKING 7-9 AM" on Laurel Street.
The
No Parking includes the Green Zone in front of the school.
Let's make sure we are good neighbors and make sure it is safe for all children to get to
school. |
| 7. PICK-UP PLACARD: The enclosed “pick-up placard” with your family name and child’s grade(s) should be placed on the dashboard (on the passenger side) clearly visible for prompt dismissal at 3 p.m. (2:30 p.m. on Mondays). The teachers use these placards to have your child(ren) ready for pick up in the designated horseshoe area. If you are going to park and get out of your car to pick up your child after school, use the left hand lane to turn into the parking lot. Please do not leave your car unattended in the right hand lane of the horseshoe. |
| 8. PICTURE DAY: On Tuesday,
September 1st, the Lifetouch photographers will be here for K-8 picture
day. If you wish to order a portrait packet for your child, you
must fill out the enclosed order form and include a check made out to
Lifetouch. Families
may not write one check to cover all of their children. Each
student must hand his/her order
envelope with payment to the photographer on September 1st.
Students will have their picture taken whether they order a portrait
packet or not. Boys in K-8 must wear a white polo shirt with a
Nativity School sweatshirt; girls in K-5 must wear a white polo
shirt with the plaid jumper; and girls in grades 6, 7, 8 must wear a
white polo shirt with a Nativity School sweatshirt. Please no
visible jewelry around the neck. |
| 9. DIRECTORY VERIFICATION:
Enclosed is a directory verification form for each student.
Please see instruction on the form and verify your name, address
and child's birthday for each child. The form must be returned by
September 4 for any changes. |
| 10. TUITION STATEMENTS: The
September tuition installment is now due for monthly, semester, and
annual payment plans. Remember the monthly payment plans run
August through May so you should now be making your second
payment. Statements are enclosed for any family that has a
balance due. |
| 11. EXTENDED CARE: Extended
Care will be open before and after school on Friday,
August 28. |
| 12. ASBESTOS LETTER: Please read
over the enclosed annual asbestos notification letter distributed
by the Department of Catholic Schools, Archdiocese of San Francisco. |
| 13. NATIVITY MEN'S CLUB: The
Nativity Men's Club will meet on September 10 in Sobrato Pavilion
Kitchen at 5:30 p.m. There is an alumni basketball game scheduled
for Saturday October 3, at 5 p.m.. The Nativity Men's Club will
have Movie Night that evening serving food at 6 p.m. with the movie
beginning at 7 p.m. or when it gets dark. Alumni, school families
and parishioners are invited to the basketball game and to stay for
dinner and the movie. More information will follow on price for
dinner and the name of the movie. Mark your calendars. |
| 14. SCRIP: Please make sure to
renew your eScrip before November 1. Visit www.escrip.com and
click on "Yes! Renew" to make sure your contributions continue. |
