| 1. BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: In honor of St. Francis of Assisi all parents, students, and parishioners are welcome to bring their pets to Nativity School on Sunday, October 4, at 1 p.m. on the school blacktop to be blessed by Monsignor Otellini. The attachment is on our school website. |
| 2. SCHOOL MASS: Our school Mass coordinated by Grade 7 will be celebrated Monday, October 5 at 9 a.m., at the Church of the Nativity. Grades 1-8 will attend. As always, parents are more than welcome to attend. |
| 3.
ALUMNI BASKETBALL GAME: Hope
to see you Saturday night, October 3, and join us for the
first ever Nativity School Alumni Basketball Game at 5 p.m. The
Nativity Men's Club
will be hosting a
BBQ following the game at 6:00. But that's not all; please plan
to
stay until 7:30 to watch The
Wizard of Oz for our annual movie night. No reservations
necessary - just come! |
| 4. MENLO PARK FIRE DISTRICT OPEN
HOUSE: Visit the Menlo Park Fire District this Saturday,
October 3, from 7:30-11 a.m.. at 300 Middlefield Road for a Pancake
Breakfast, live demonstrations and more! Please see the enclosed
flyer. |

BOARD OF EDUCATION: Our monthly School Consultative Board
of Education meets Monday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m. All parents and
parishioners are invited to attend. |
| 6.
PUMPKIN PATCH: It's Pumpkin Patch time again at Nativity
School -- Friday, October 16. The cost will be $3.00 for your
child's pumpkin. More information to follow. |
| 7. FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE: Father-Daughter
dance tickets are now on sale. Be part of this great tradition at
Nativity School! The dance will be on Friday, October 16th, from
6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Sobrato Pavilion. Great music and dance
contests with prizes! Dessert, fruit, and other refreshments will
be served. See enclosed flyer for sign up information. |

VOLLEYBALL: Nativity Panthers are doing a great
job! There are no games this coming weekend. Games will
resume October 10th at the Sobrato Pavilion. GO PANTHERS! |
| 9. PICTURE RETAKES: For those
students who may have been absent, forgotten their payment order
envelope, or those who are not happy with their portrait packages,
picture retake day will be Wednesday, October 14. Students who
have
retakes done should hand the photographer either their payment order
envelope or the portrait packet they received last month. Order
envelopes are available in the tower outside the school office.
If you ordered a class composite, the class pictures will arrive in
January. |

NO BULLY WORKSHOP: Please make sure you have marked this
date on your calendar, Wednesday, October 14, from 6:45-8:30 p.m.. at
Sobrato Pavilion. Guest speaker Nicholas Carlisle will present a
hands-on parent workshop. Please plan to attend. |
| 11. NATIVITY TREE LOT NEWS: We are pleased to
announce that Danny and Amy Montejano will be co-chairing the tree lot
with us this year. In addition, we would like to explore the
possibility of forming a tree lot committee. If you would like to get
involved "behind the scenes" please contact Donna at 261-0981 or Amy at
216-6193. We can use help with wreath decorating, PR, hospitality,

BOOK BAG PROGRAM: Grades K-2 will be receiving the first
of their weekly book bags on Monday, October 5. During the course
of this program each student will be exposed to 240 different
books. Parents, please read the enclosed flyer for further
