Dear Parents:

1.  PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: As teachers we are partners with our parents in the education and well being of our students.  Together this week we share our children's progress here at Nativity.  It is most important that parents attend scheduled conference meetings to remind our students of the caring relationship we share for them.   We are extremely grateful to Mrs. Tameilau for providing the faculty with a delicious luncheon that certainly fortified us during Parent-Teacher Conference Week.

2.  FAMILY MASS:  This Sunday, November 15, is the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass at Church of the Nativity.  We want to thank Grade 6 for coordinating the Mass, the school Choir for singing, and the Grade 6 Room Parents for hosting the refreshments.

3.  ANNUAL HOLIDAY SOCK DRIVE:  The Fifth Grade is holding their annual Holiday Sock Drive to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Homeless Centers along the Peninsula, November 23-December 4th.  Please see the enclosed flier.

4.  KEPLER'S BOOK FAIR:  The Kepler's book fair was a great success!  Thank you to Mrs. Christa Enns and her many volunteer helpers.  We are happy to see so many literature enthusiasts enjoy great books, most especially our students.  The book fair was greatly appreciated and attended by our community.  Please remember throughout the year when you shop at Kepler's to mention Nativity School and Kepler's will donate 10% of the total sale to our school.  We raised an amazing $1,468.74.

5.  CHRISTMAS TREE LOT:  We are looking forward to our 12th Annual Christmas Tree Sale.  Enclosed are order forms for you, your extended family, and friends.

Thanks to all that have signed up to work the lot. Those of you who have not signed up, please make sure you do so.  There are plenty of openings available so please go to the online sign up and pick a day or two!  We especially need people on opening day/weekend.  If you have signed up and still have an hour or two to fill we would love to see you at the tree lot deliveries:  Nov. 25, Dec. 1 and Dec. 9 and/or at our tree lot setup Nov. 25.

Thank you to those who have volunteered to bring a meal to the lot.  Please keep the meal simple.

We are looking for decorations to decorate the wreaths (i.e. holly berries, small ball ornaments).  Donations may be left on the table outside the front office.

The Tree Lot is off to a strong start, thanks to all of your support , and remember we need all hands especially on the weekends.  We are looking forward to sharing the joy of the season with you!

6.  ADVENT WREATHS:  Help is needed to assemble Advent Wreaths on Friday, November 27, from 9:00-noon, at the Tree Lot on the school yard.  Please bring work gloves and hand clippers.  No experience is required.  Please sign up below.  The First Sunday of Advent is November 29.  Please call Mary Ann Boland, 814-0216, with any questions.

7. CRAB CIOPPINO:  Mark your calendars!  The Nativity Men's Club is hosting a Crab Cioppino dinner on Saturday, January 23.  This dinner sells out quickly so please sign up in advance.  Live music provided by Pasquale Esposito and Band.  See enclosed flier.

8.  WRITE NIGHT:  The Menlo Park Library is hosting a group of published authors who will present a FREE writing workshop for students ages 12 and over on Tuesday, December 8th, at 7:00 p.m.  Published authors are C. 9.  PANTHER PRIDE T-SHIRTS:  We now have size SMALL Nativity Panther t-shirts available for $10.00 at the school office.

10. DECATHLON TEAM:  We are preparing to begin our Decathlon training.  The students who participate are from Grades 6, 7 and 8.  This Academic Competition will be our 6th year.  Nativity School has always placed not only in Logic and the Super Quiz but in the individual areas.  We are very proud of this tradition.  Coaches for the Super Quiz and Logic are needed to work with the team during lunch or after school.  If you would be interested in coaching please contact Mrs. Trelut or Miss Olcese.

11.  RED PANDA ACROBATS:  Thursday, December 17th at 7:00 p.m., the Menlo Park Library is presenting this renowned performance.  Marvel at their colorful costumes and feats of balance as these amazing performers execute acts of daring and skill to entertain the whole family.  This crowd-pleasing event is FREE and open to the public.  To learn more about the Red Panda Acrobats, go to www.redpanda2000.com.
