Advent: A
time to reflect on blessedness
What does it mean to be blessed and what things in our lives bring blessedness? Advent is a time to reflect on how our lives have been blessed and how the experiences of joy and happiness impact us on a daily basis. When we remember the members of our family that have given so much of themselves so that our lives might be enriched, we understand blessedness. In the Scripture readings this Advent we are reminded that the real blessings come to us from our relationships. Mary is blessed because she is favored by God and has entered into His plan of salvation. Elizabeth and Mary, relatives and friends, are expecting and share with one another the joys of pending motherhood. Both will bear sons that will change the human history. In the remaining days of Advent, I ask that you take some time to reflect on your understanding of happiness and blessedness. When did you feel blessed? What times in your life did you feel at peace? Bring these joys with you into the business of the Christmas season and place your blessedness and peace before Christ the newborn King. |
| 1. CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Tomorrow
evening is our K-4 Christmas Concert under the direction of Mrs. Judy
Bayse, our music teacher, at 7 p.m. in Sobrato Pavilion. Students
should be in their classrooms by 6:45 p.m. dressed in their Sunday
best. There will be plenty of seating as well as reserved seating
for those parents who bid on the seating at last year's Auction.
The classrooms and Pavilion will be open at 6:45 p.m. |
| 2. TREE LOT EXTENDED: We
have 40 beautiful trees left and have decided to extend the sales until
Thursday, December 17, or until they run out. We have added the
new days to the volunteer online system at
http://www.i-volunteeronline.com/nativitytreelot.asp. We will be
tearing down the rest of the lot on Friday, December 18, right after
the morning bell. If we get enough people to help it should take
less than two hours. Please go to the online system and sign
up. Thank you for another successful year! |
| 3. ENCLOSED FLIERS: Please make
sure you read through the first edition of the Panther News and Auction
information. |
| The Nativity Faculty and Staff wish you joy, a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! |
|
Blessings,
Mrs. Trelut
